Amhra Choluim Chille

18th cent. Paper. 19 × 15 cms. Pp. [2]+24+[2]. There is no subscriptio but the handwriting is that of Aodh Ó Dálaigh (Hugh O'Daly) f. c. 1750. The ms. is bound in boards and the binder has inserted one blank leaf after the front cover and another before the back cover. On the flyleaf are the following former catalogue nos.: 4to/No. 4 Irish Mss. Paper, 598 and Phillipps MS. 8153; the following pencilled jottings appear on that page also: Heber, 917, Ireland, Visions. There is no scribal pagination. This transcript of the Amhra is from T.C.D. E.4.2, the Irish Liber Hymnorum, as are also the two items (Adamnán's Prayer and Mo Bhí's Pedigree) which follow it. Certain passages which correspond with passages in T.C.D. E.4.2. noted as illegible by Bernard and Atkinson (The Irish Liber Hymorum, Henry Bradshaw Society, 1898) are legible in this ms. The same scribe made another transcript of the Amhra - now T.C.D. H.1.14. - from B.M. Eg. 1782.
