O'Clery's Glossary; Grammar

18th cent. Paper. 15.5 × 10 cms. Pp. 168. Scribe: Maurice Gormon (scribal signatures pp. 158, 159) - in Irish Muiris Ó Gormáin. There is no date given but the writing is typical of Ó Gormáin's earlier style of handwriting (cf. B.M. Eg. 128, G 28 supra, R.I.A. 23 I 22, 23 A 45, the latter written 1745). The scribal pagination begins with the Glossary, but a modern pencilled pagination, which also covers the title-page, Dedication and Preface to the reader, has been adopted in the present catalogue. The ms. is bound in half-leather with the number 10291 of the Phillipps' Mss. pasted on spine. The binder inserted two blank leaves after the front cover and six before the back cover. The number 165 of the O'Reilly collection appears on the front cover and is also pasted on the top inside margin of the title-page. A former shelf-number 121, which has been crossed out, is also on the title-page.
