Transcripts of Lives of Saints from Book of Lismore

19th cent. Paper. 19 × 11.5 cms. (and 19.5 × 12 cms.). Pp. 172 + [48]. Thisms. was written parly by Edward O'Reilly and partly by his sons Patrick and Miles and was number 66 in O'Reilly's catalogue of Irish mss. (now R.I.A. 23 H 1). It is the first of a trio of "small paper books" containing transcripts from the Book of Lismore. The second book, no. 67, is now G 63 supra. For further information relating to the three books see introductory remarks to G 63 supra. Corresponding pages from the Book of Lismore are noted by O'Reilly in the lower margins. Scribal pagination pp. 1-172. The ms. is bound in boards, the binder isnerting one blank leaf after the front cover and another before the back cover. O'Reilly's cat. no. and the relevant excerpt from his Sale Catalogue are pasted on page 1. Phillipps Ms. 10294.
