Miscellaneous

18th-19th cent. Paper. 19 × 15 cms (maximum). 150 pp. A collection of scraps and fragments of manuscripts. Main scribes: (a) Mícheál Óg Ó Longáin; (b) Seamus do Barra (James Barry, pp. 61, 64, 95), pp. 45-95. Other identified scribes are: (c) J. Courtney, pp. 15, 18; (d) Pól Ó Longáin(?), p. 20; (e) Peter O Longan, p. 41. Unidentified scribes are (f) pp. 5-6 (M. Óg Ó Longáin?); (g) pp. 43, 110; (h) pp. 97-105 (scribal note: `Written for the use of John Minehan August the 1st 1823 and twenty three', p. 104). Notes and jottings in the manuscript include: (a) p. 9 `Paul O Langan Peter O Langan'; (b) p. 48 `a leaf missing apparently by the catchword' (in Phillipps's hand; no leaf missing according to text); (c) p. 56 `They were apparently English verses; 5 leaves cut out but they do not appear to have been part of the text' (in Phillipps's hand); (d) p. 62 `CastleLyons'; (e) p. 96 money calculations, `Castlyons'; (f) p. 112 O ...
