Bound in half-leather with marbled end-papers by Bretherton 1848 with `Langani Fragmenta Hibernica' in gilt and `21896' labelled on spine; `21896 Ph' and `Phillipps MS 21896' on verso of front end-paper. 1 Printed matter. Headed `Irish Antiquities.' Appeal for subscription `towards discharging the expences of a faithful copy' of a `voluminous Irish Manuscript of the 10th century ... now in the hands of an individual in Cork' to be transcribed by `Michael O Longan, of Cork' who is `highly competent ... unemployed, neglected, poor, distressed and forgotten.' Dated `Cork, 26th March, 1817.' `Subscriptions to be received by John Connor, Printer, Cork- Street Cork.' `Names of Subscribers' follow. Two names only: `Right Rev. [...Mur]phy [...] Kirby £1.2.9d.' P.2 blank.

3 `The Elegy of Denis Mac Carthy. The sigh and wail of Innisfail her hero is no more. 9 stt. numbered. `Finis by James Barry Five Mile Bridge Agust 4th 1838 A.D' (p. 4). Followed by Glanus guala, is doidh lámh gan lén. 4 lines.
