Glossary; Ogham

19th cent. 9.5 × 15 cms. 202 unnumbered pages fo ruled notebook (last 42 pp. blank). Scribe: Pádraic Stúndún. `air Leirg na mBráthar, a gCathair Chorcaíghe', 1875 (a later hand tried to alter some of the letters in the scribe's surname, the initial of `Corcaighe', and the date to 1885). Initials ornamented.

`In the year 1885' Thomas Meehan of Corrandulla and Annadown Co. Galway, and one-time owner, wrote his name several times, also the names of deceased relatives. Names of other Meehans with addresses in Dublin (College Green and Upp. Buckingham St.) also occur, as well as that of `Margaret McDermott, Glebe Street, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo' (probably of the Meehan family). On the last page is written `To Duffy & Sons Co Ltd Dublin'.
