O'Brien's Irish-English Dictionary

This is Edward O'Reilly's interleaved copy of O'Brien's Focalóir Gaoidhilge- Sax-Bhéarla, Paris 1768, to which O'Reilly himself (his name in Irish is cancelled on the title-page) has contributed additional material on the printed pages as well as on the interleaves. Most of that material is given under the letter A. An earlier hand wrote some corrections and notes throughout, but the cropping of margins has caused loss of letters in several places (pp. 30, 338, etc.). The name `Padraig O Connuill' occurs on p. 1.

Bound in leather simply tooled with `Irish and English Dictionary / O'Brien' gilt-lettered on spine. Purchased for £1 on 4 November 1933.
