Late 19th-20th cent. 17.5 × 11 cms. Ruled notebook, 298 pp., bound in boards with scribal numbering [i-ii] + 1-211 continued in modern pencil to 245 + 49 blank unnumbered pages + 2. Scribe unidentified.

The volume consists of: p. [i], headed `Supplement to Dictionary' followed by a list of `Sources drawn upon'; p. [ii], the following: `Several of the words in the following supplement appear to be simply incorrect spellings, but many also are to be regarded as provincialisms chiefly from Munster. It will be found that numbers of them are not contained in O Reilly unless they are concealed under a different spelling. Several words have been inserted which are not Irish at all, but it was thought well to insert them notwithstanding, as they might otherwise puzzle a learner, not perceiving that they were English words adopted'; pp. 1-210, `Supplement' A-U beg. abac = a dwarf. Ends úsáid le = use for; pp. 211-45, `Supplement 2' A-U, one (or two) word(s) under the head letter with the exception of letters e, n, p, u; last leaf and inside back cover have Irish phrases with their English equivalents.
